Description of Shipping Container City:
Shipping containers are becoming all the rage in construction these days. This is not surprising given their many benefits. In fact, some engineers have been toying with the idea of a container city where all the structures are constructed using shipping containers.
A good of example of a container city in the making is the BoxPark. Designed to be a “short term” shipping container shopping mall, this “container city” will be built using 60 shipping containers.
Conceived by Brands Incorporated and Roger Wade of Boxfresh in conjunction with real estate developers Hammerson and Ballymore, the “container city” or shipping container shopping mall is likely to be situated to the North of London between Spitalfields amd Shoreditch, at a previously unused 4.7 hectare location known as The Goodsyard.
The container city will largely feature pop-up and relocatable shops such as is found in shipping container shopping malls in Kyrgyzstan and Mexico

Benefits of Shipping “Container City” or Shopping Malls:
It is amazing how shipping containers are turning into the building material of choice… and about time too. There are millions of containers wasting away at many sea ports in many countries.
Building a shipping container shopping mall or a shipping container city is an amazing idea. As in the case of the BoxPark, shops and units can be cheaper to build and most importantly, will provide an avenue for cheaper container shopping malls that are both energy and space efficient.
Also, this can help encourage people to preserve their environment, reduce their carbon footprints and most importantly, help preserve and save the earth.
