Description: This is another example of a lot of people getting sick of having to deal with the financial strain, time delays and ongoing typical home building processes. Michael De Jong who is the founder of MEKA is known for building luxury homes in Belize, but has done a very good job (as expected) at making something fabulous out of a shipping container. It is eco-friendly living at it’s best and far below the market cost of building a standard home, anywhere in the world, but especially in NYC. There are different designs, which come in all sorts of sizes, the smallest being 320 feet for less than $40,000.00. The cedar wood paneling is beautiful and compliments the bamboo interior and slate bathroom perfectly. We adore the stainless steel features within too!

Benefits: As with every shipping container structure, this particular modular home can very easily be extended or relocated if needed. A particular benefit of this design is being able to choose whether you want solar power generation included in your modular, rather than it automatically being installed like many of the others. We really love that one side of the module has the ability to house a deck! Perfect for some fresh air!
